Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for an experienced Construction Engineer for our operations in Infrastructure in Gothenburg - Västra Götaland and Halland. At Svevia, we combine the community and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility. Do you want to share the road with us?
The role of an experienced Construction EngineerAs a Construction Engineer, you will work closely with our project managers in our projects in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland, and Halland. With us, the Construction Engineer is a senior role where you will be responsible for parts of the entire process from bidding to production phase, which means ensuring that analyses and decisions made during the bidding phase are carried over to the production phase. You will actively participate in the bidding work, where you contribute with your broad expertise and experience to create everything from competitive bids to feasible and profitable projects.
Another important part of your work is to manage the analyses and decisions made during the bidding phase and work with the project's contractual issues. This means ensuring that contractual terms are followed and that any changes are handled correctly. You will have a particular focus on driving contractual issues within AB/ABT and ensuring that work with risks and opportunities in the projects is carried out. Your work will be varied, and you will work closely with both project organizations and cost estimation and bidding teams. There may also be tasks where you assist the Site Manager with questions.
Handling changes and additional work as well as notifications will be part of your responsibilities. You will work with documentation for these, substantiate them, and independently and/or together with the Project Manager, systematically present and argue for them.
Planning and follow-up in projects may involve conducting financial investigations and following up on applicable purchase agreements, cost reconciliations, forecasts, final reconciliations, schedules, and delivery plans. You will work on analyzing documents in detail and ensuring that all conditions are in place.
Since we operate in a large region, Västra Götaland and Halland, the position also means that you will sometimes travel to be on-site in our projects and, in some cases, may stay overnight at our project sites.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has, for several years, been a Site Manager or Cost Estimator but is now seeking a role without personnel responsibility, or you have extensive experience as a Project Manager on the client or consulting side, and you want to work closely and integrated with the projects.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have experience in:
Extensive experience in independently driving contractual issues in AB/ABT
The ability to develop and substantiate UR that you independently drive with the client or together with the Project Manager
Driven by results and reaching goals
Experience in early stages in ABT related to these issues
Experience with AB/ABT/AMA
As a person, you are proactive and take responsibility for your work, while feeling comfortable working under tight deadlines. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, with a keen eye for detail. Your pedagogical ability allows you to explain and manage contractual issues clearly and methodically. You are self-assured, patient, and persistent, and you thrive on solving problems in a dynamic work environment. With your strong self-leadership, you easily motivate yourself and collaborate effectively with others, contributing to good communication and successful teamwork. You also have a B driver's license and good communication skills in Swedish, both written and spoken.
Part of something biggerWith well-coordinated teams, we build Sweden from the ground up – in concrete, steel, wood, stone, and soil. And we do this by constructing roads, bridges, quays, and concrete structures for industry, state, and municipalities. Additionally, we break new ground and pave the way for water and sewage networks, wind farms, and development areas. We also have specialized units within foundation work and soil remediation. Together with Svevia's other operations in road maintenance and paving, you will become an important cog in a larger societal machine. This opens up new opportunities for innovation and problem-solving.
Why Svevia? With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to influence and make your voice heard.
We have career paths for those who want to become managers and leaders or want to develop in their existing professional roles. It is as a team that we create success. That is how we do business and generate results. That is how we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
Application and informationYou can easily apply by sending your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting quality securely, inclusively, and without prejudice. Therefore, we do not want a personal letter. This process includes tests, and we use MAP (personality test) and Matrigma (work psychological test).
The final candidate will also be subject to a background check.
We wish to receive your application as soon as possible, but no later than January 25. The selection process may begin before the application deadline; however, we will not be available for questions regarding the process during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
